The Eastern Province Provincial Schools 7s tournament started with a bang in a very cold and windy Port Elizabeth on Friday.
There were very strong performances from the likes of Framesby scoring 97 points in the first two games without reply from their opponents, Brandwag pulling off the same feat scoring 69 unanswered points in their two games.
This puts all eyes on them going into day two of the tournament on Saturday 8th September, kicking off at 8am. There was a lot of running rugby, especially with the wind taking out the kicking factor, also adding to handling errors for the under prepared teams.
We had a lot of very evenly contested matches that were fun to watch, with nail-biting action betweem two of PE's top teams, Pearson and Grey high, ending in a 17 - 17 draw.
All this bodes well for a province with a lot of hidden talent. Be sure to catch the rest of the action tomorrow at Andrew Rabie, or from your couch on channel 241 on your DStv Now app for free!
