Following a gruelling two days of Schools 7s at Pirates Club in Green Side, Grey College won the final 35-10 against Northern Cape High School to lift the title and be crowned the best school sevens team in the country.

The first day of Schools 7s got underway at 09:30 on 5 October at Pirates Club. Oos Moot narrowly beat Randburg High School 19-12. Paul Roos, one of the favourites for the title, struggled to a 10-7 win over Middelburg High School. But it was Grey College who were the standout side, with massive wins against Drostdy (36-17), Northern Cape (38-12) and Grens (56-0), which was the biggest win of the weekend.

On Day Two action continued at 09:00. The day saw much more evenly contested matches, as teams settled into the competition. In one of the standout matches, Paul Roos faced off against Grey College in the semi-final. Grey College won the encounter 28-12, settling up a final clash with Northern Cape High School.

The final was a one-sided affair, as an extremely talented Grey outfit won the match 35-10. They were undoubtedly the best side of the tournament, finishing undefeated.
